The cylindrical offset to the half sphere top

This nut cover is a compact protective cap designed to fit over a hexagonal nut, featuring a customizable size for the nut’s width, a defined hexagonal height for proper seating, and an adjustable thickness for structural rigidity. Its form combines a short cylindrical straight section with a smooth hemispherical dome, creating a clean, rounded exterior that hides and shields the nut beneath.

The cap straight height sets the vertical offset before the dome begins,

The segments parameter controls the smoothness of the curved top (try the value 6 here for a nice variation).

Ideal for protecting hardware from debris and wear, this shape also adds a visually refined finish for furniture, mechanical assemblies, and decorative builds.

Processing steps (work in progress)
This is a first version of an idea I had. You can add different modifiers to the generated shape. Currently there is only the drilling machine that can drill a hole in the center (origin) of the shape and rotate.
